Day Two!

Wow! Where to even begin with how awesome today was? The exhibit hall was bustling, the yoga was sweating it out and the Chapter Chair breakfast was a great opportunity to celebrate all that the Chapters have done in an at-home and hybrid format. (Which, just so you know, was a lot!)

We kicked the early morning off with yoga. Getting our bodies and minds in the right place for incredible sessions, exhibit hall exploration and of course the Thursday Night Event. After warming up we had some coffee in the exhibit hall and had an opportunity to schmooze and thank the sponsors and exhibitors who truly make this event possible. With their support we are able to make this event both affordable and incredibly special.

Our morning sessions included feedback on budgets, managing pensions costs, how to handle buyer’s remorse and more. The public speaking for financial folk sessions was especially well presented! Good to know they can practice what they preach.

For lunch we once again assembled in the huge Golden State ballroom and after celebrating the extremely well deserved volunteer of the year awards for both Amber Johnson and Mark Petrasso, and getting a special message from our GFOA guests (their conference is in Texas!) we laughed and were inspired by our Featured Speaker; Chuck Gallagher. That was absolutely not a session to miss! (And good news, you can see it again in March at the Virtual Sessions.)

Following lunch, more incredible sessions and of course the announcement of all the prize winners for various booths/exhibitors including CSMFO in the afternoon with coffee and sweets. (Congratulations Tim, John, Lisette and more on your wins!)

More sessions in the afternoon and then of course; the Thursday Night Event. Cocktails and games on the Flamingo Lawn, dinner in the ballroom with live music, magic and comedy and then the after party with more stand up and the infamous CSMFO dancing until midnight. What an incredible way to celebrate the organization, ourselves and all we aim to do in 2022.
