Sacramento Valley Chapter Update
What better way to start 2020 than a very energetic, informative and fun conference in Disneyland! The Sacramento Valley Chapter (SVC) was well represented at the conference and we would like to sincerely thank you for your participation. Last year, our long-term serving member of the Sacramento Chapter, Robin Bretagna, Finance Director of the City of Yuba retired and resigned from her post as the Vice Chair of the Chapter. Robin was very instrumental in starting the chapter back up after many years of being dormant. Robin’s hard work, leadership, and many volunteer hours is truly appreciated. We are happy to announce that we have a great addition to our SVC team and appointed Alberto Preciado, Accounting Manager at the Citrus Heights Water District to the role of Vice Chair.
Alberto joined the Citrus Heights Water District in 2016 from the City of Tustin in Orange County. Originally from San Francisco, Alberto spent some time in San Diego. There, he earned an Associate’s degree in Accounting and Economics, and then a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Diego State University, before moving to Orange County and starting his career at a CPA firm specializing in government auditing. In 2011, he began his first municipal post with the City of Tustin, where he remained until relocating to the Sacramento area.
Alberto is married to Julia, and together they have two young children, Juliana and Alberto. He likes to spend time with his family, volunteering at his kids’ school, tending to his garden, travelling, and has recently discovered a love for kayaking.
Alberto joins Chapter Chair Nitish Sharma, Chief Administrative Officer for the Cosumnes Community Services District at the chapter’s helm. Nitish and Alberto are thrilled to kick off the year and are working on getting the chapter’s meeting dates set, topics selected, and speakers lined up for the 2020 year.
