Another Incredible Day at the 2023 CSMFO Conference!

Early Bird Sessions, the passing of the gavel, philanthropy in action and some incredible sessions – what more could you ask for at the 2023 CSMFO Conference?

Things got started early on Wednesday morning with a run around the Capital, early bird sessions and registration opening at 7:30 am. CSMFO staff checked in more than 800 people today and most between 8 and 10 am. What a treat it was to see so many CSMFO folks once again together in a beautiful venue. And a special shout out to the first time attendees and the CSMFO mentors who gave them a roadmap for getting the most out of their CSMFO experience.

Coffee was served in the exhibit hall which was bustling with activity – (don’t forget about the booth contest in the Guidebook app, you can win an incredible prize!) and after Scott Catlett handed over the CSMFO gavel to Rich Lee and we heard from our philanthropy representatives (major shout out to those who filled bags with onions for Loaves and Fishes Sacramento) we got our conference kicked off by our Featured Speaker Brett Culp.

So, what is in store for Thursday, you ask? CSMFO Favorite featured speaker, Chirstopher Thornberg – An expert in economic and revenue forecasting, regional economics, economic policy, and labor and real estate markets, Dr. Thornberg has consulted for private industry, cities, counties, and public agencies. He became nationally known for forecasting the subprime mortgage market crash that began in 2007, and was one of the few economists on record to predict the global economic recession that followed.

In addition to Christopher’s sessions we’ll have a whole slew of other incredible sessions to attend – to inspire, engage and grow your skills and knowledge. And of course, starting at 6pm at Punch Bowl Social will be our famous CSMFO Late Night Event! Join your CSMFO colleagues and bring your “A” game. Choose your own adventure and join us for an evening of bowling, dancing, singing, and table games paired with delicious food and cocktails. We also encourage you to dress up in your favorite 80’s apparel- throw on your members only jacket or all things neon!  Meet up with other CSMFO colleagues and bring your “A” game to Punch Bowl Social Sacramento from 6 pm to 11pm.

Main attractions include 8 bowling lanes, karaoke rooms, arcade games, and table games like Giant Scrabble, Giant Jenga, ping pong, and Foosball. And, let’s not forget the dance floor!

And a little tease for Friday, our closing Featured Speaker will be Collette Carlson- Colette teaches audiences how to transform relationships through the power of connected conversations. She has the outstanding ability to connect through engaging content and laugh-out-loud humor. With a Master’s Degree in Human Behavior, and more than 20 years of experience helping individuals change behaviors that impact their success, Colette understands the psychology, mindset, and skills required to make positive, long-lasting change.

Thank you to our sponsors, exhibitors, the leadership who put this event together and of course our members and attendees!
