Happy New Year!
I hope you had the chance to refresh and recharge over the holidays and are off to a great start to 2022!
January is a good time to reflect and review the last year and set goals for the upcoming year. Need some ideas for some 2022 resolutions? Check out Neil Kupchin’s article from CSMFO News in December!
The Communications Committee has set a goal for 2022 that we hope serves CSMFO News and membership well. Our goal is to ensure CSMFO News balances between technical and CSMFO-centered content, based on the feedback we received from the 2021 CSMFO News & Communication Survey (check out the results here.)
To do this, we are establishing a target of six articles per month:
- Two technical articles– tips, industry insights, changes in legislation, best practices, etc.
- Two CSMFO articles – member or leadership highlights, chapter meeting highlights, Board Meeting recaps, committee updates, etc.
- Two recurring articles – Editor’s Alley, President or President-Elect messages.
This is just the Communications Committee minimum target for CSMFO News and leaves plenty of room to pull together breaking news articles, miscellaneous articles, or shorter content that we can share through social media instead.
I think it’s important to share the Communications Committee targets to highlight that this schedule and content is pulled together by volunteers on the committee, as well as authors who generously volunteer their time to share their expertise through CSMFO News. I am so appreciative of all the hard work from our volunteers!

We are always in need of more help to gather and coordinate CSMFO News content. If you have ideas, tips, or leads, please share with us by emailing communications@csmfo.org, OR, better yet – please reach out and volunteer to join the Communications Committee!
