Welcome to August!
Fall is my favorite season, which I typically associate with the kickoff of football. Unfortunately, I’m off to a rough start as both the Utah Utes (my alma mater) and Minnesota Vikings lost this weekend. Oh well, there’s always next weekend!
A huge thank you to everyone who was able to take the 2021 CSMFO News & Communications Survey. We received double the number of responses compared to the previous survey from January 2020. The Communications Committee is looking forward to analyzing the responses and comments that were provided. Your feedback is very appreciated! We are hoping to share the results in October 2021.
Looking at September 2021, both the Inland Empire and San Gabriel Valley chapters have two great meetings on the calendar. Registration for Inland Empire is open until September 14th! Check out the CSMFO Community Calendar to register.
- Inland Empire Chapter Meeting (9/16) – System Implementation Change Management – Challenges & Strategies for Adapting to the “New Normal” Workplace.
- San Gabriel Valley Chapter Meeting (9/23) – Five Things You Need to Know to Fight Fraud in your Organization.
It seems like a lot of in-person activities have been delayed by an uptick in COVID-19 cases and new concerns over variants. However, that means that Chapter Meetings are still typically held via Zoom, which creates an opportunity to attend meetings outside your usual chapter. This is a great way to network, see presentations by different speakers and industry experts, and earn CPE if you need it.
CSMFO is still working on growing our LinkedIn presence. If you haven’t had the chance, please check out the CSMFO LinkedIn page.
Finally, to all of those impacted by COVID-19 and the wildfires raging across the state, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Here’s hoping for a safe and healthy month.
