CSMFO Spring Step Challenge - Sponsored by NBS
We just celebrated our CSMFO Spring Challenge, and summer is fast upon us! This Step Challenge, powered by the MoveSpring phone app and sponsored by NBS, occurred over the month of May. Over 75 CSMFO members signed up, a new record for these COVID-era challenges. The goals were to get outside, get moving, be healthy, and encourage camaraderie amongst the members: These goals were achieved!
The top stepper was Vivian Chu, from the finance team at the City of Albany in the East Bay region. She blew the doors off the 300,000 step goal with over 861,000 steps in the month, hitting all of the highlights of San Francisco. She made it all over Golden Gate Park, Lands End, and other spots. Heather Zacker of the City of Santa Maria and Lily Ng of Bank of the West were both impressive with well over 500,000 steps each. Interestingly, CSMFO President Marcus Pimentel and Tim Seufert of NBS tied for 10th place with exactly 324,357 steps each. Vivian and Heather will enjoy some treats for their efforts!

The other two specific goals were ten pushups a day and no soda consumption. (Note: Did anyone calculate the lost soda tax revenues?). Sara Mares of NBS topped the no soda pledge with all 31 days and Vivian Chu knocked out the pushups, too.
The NBS team was happy to sponsor this effort, as a 25-year supporter of CSMFO. NBS specifically noted the value of the pandemic-era camaraderie as well as the healthy aspects of the challenge.
We salute you all for your efforts!

Based in the San Francisco office, Tim Seufert is Managing Director of NBS. He has over two decades of local government experience, out of more than three decades of financial and management experience. He is involved with funding and financing projects from their inception and feasibility stage to their completion, as well as the ongoing consulting and administration for Special Financing Districts (SFDs). For movement, he is an early morning runner in the foggy streets of San Francisco and a hiker outside of town.
