Discover CSMFO in San Diego

Over the past month, the 2022 Conference Host Committee has been hard at work preparing for next year’s conference. We held our second committee meeting this month and selected a theme for the conference. We wanted to connect the idea of looking toward the future in the post-pandemic world with the discovery that goes on at our conference each year – discovering new ideas, discovering new friendships, and discovering new vendors and products. We are pleased to unveil the 2022 conference theme: Discover CSMFO – Exploring our Financial Future.

David Garrison from the CSMFO staff has done amazing work over the last few years significantly enhancing the quality of CSMFO’s printed materials and graphics. His work on our conference logo once again did not disappoint. You are seeing it here first!

Also this month, several Host Committee members met in person at the Town & Country Resort to take a look at the newly-renovated facilities and begin to think about the layout of the conference and event locations. The facility did not disappoint! The renovation has transformed the resort from a dated 1960s conference facility to a modern conference hotel that is one of the nicest I’ve seen at our CSMFO conferences in recent years. Whether you are a government member or a commercial member, I think you will be pleased with what the facility has to offer. The exhibit and conference spaces are ideal for CSMFO’s conference size, providing a central exhibit space and ample room for general sessions and breakouts. The restaurant, lobby, and pool spaces are modern and beautiful, providing lots of options for our conference events. A surprise discovery during our tour is that the hotel now features a bridge over the San Diego River at the rear of the property, which directly connects to the Fashion Valley Mall and a light rail station providing access to downtown San Diego via a short train ride.

Over the next few months, I will be sharing more about the conference as things take shape. Next, the Host Committee will be developing a conference schedule in concert with the Program Committee and selecting keynote speakers for the conference. I hope that you will all be pleased with the results when you join me in San Diego next February!
