It Was a Fast, Yet Slow, Year
I am writing this final Editor’s message, on a nearly empty American Airlines flight headed to South Carolina and find myself reflecting on the turbulent yet exciting year that has passed as CSMFO Communications Chair. A rollercoaster of emotions comes to mind; sometimes dough but always optimism that our members would be willing to contribute meaningful content.
I shall forever be grateful to everyone who has said “yes” when asked to help and those who will continue to support CSMFO. It was a fast, yet slow, year. Sometimes I wasn’t sure what to share, but it always came from the heart. I have enjoyed reading the many articles published and look forward to doing so in the future.
Many may not know, but authors are not paid to share their experiences and knowledge, they do so because they humbly serve and support government agencies. Which reminds me of the many upcoming conference sessions, also largely being presented by volunteers who have real world experiences and are willing to share them. Don’t miss out on attending this year’s annual conference which will include many firsts for CSMFO.

We will again be highlighting portions of the conference in real time and a conference print edition will follow in March, but there’s nothing like having a firsthand experience. While most sessions will be available to view later; the bloopers, stories told, children peeking in to see what’s going on- the extra surprises will not be revealed. Together let’s make some meaningful memories toward a better tomorrow.
The future of CSMFO is bright, we have great volunteers and commercial sponsors who support our efforts to educate, implement best practices, and adjust to ongoing regulatory requirements. May you all continue to thrive!!!
