Audits are Fast Approaching, Don’t Panic, Stay Ahead

Kofi Antobam, Director of Administrative Services, City of Rancho Mirage and Claudia Martinez, Accounting Manager, City of La Quinta

The Coachella Valley CSMFO Chapter engaged members by hosting a chapter meeting on Fiscal Year End Planning & Audit Preparation. The presentation was provided by Sharon Rahban, CPA.

The topic was timely with audit season right around the corner! This webinar reviewed various topics that accounting, and finance staff need to work on during fiscal year-end and suggested strategies for how to navigate through those tasks in an efficient and effective way. Suggestions covered acquiring additional resources, maximizing timing of deliverables, tips and tricks to stay above water, and how to properly prepare for year-end audits during the fiscal year.

The 42 participants were a little shy to turn on their cameras, but it was nice to their names and such great attendance for the first virtual chapter meeting. We are certain there was were lots of nodding, sighs, and aha moments during the presentation. The information was relatable, practical, and derived from past government experience.
