History in the Making
As some agencies begin transitioning back to some or increased face-to-face communication, CSMFO News is also back in production starting in June. The Communications Committee is dedicated to bringing you weekly professional, up to date, credible, and useful information. This month we will resume publication with a variety of topics including:
- Diversity and inclusion in the workplace,
- Pension and OPEB funding,
- Fiscal stability,
- The role of a Finance Director, and
- An award-winning budget platform.
It seems as if life will continue to pull us in opposing directions for some time to come, a tug of war between a pandemic and the economy; both ultimately impacting our local economies and ability to deliver services. Some communities will be financially devasted while others remain nearly unscathed, but ALL will find a way to adjust to the new normal and make history along the way.
We are truly in this together and CSMFO is a great resource to help support you through these difficult times. Someone is always available to provide a reference, sample document, talk through an accounting entry, consult with on financial projections or personnel challenges. You name it, CSMFO has it!!! You can also find someone who loves gardening, cooking, reading, traveling, playing sports or an instrument. All are welcome and appreciated, which is why I love this CSMFO family.
CSMFO Member Triumphs
In the coming months we will share extraordinary triumphs of our CSMFO members which will inspire you to reach further and dream BIGGER. If your career has been transformed by a CSMFO member, we want to hear about it. If you are willing to share your journey through the extraordinary land of government finance, we also want to hear from you. Sharing is how we can all grow, learn, and appeal to new finance professionals.
Finally, this month many of you will be celebrating personal milestones such as graduations, relationship and work anniversaries, birthdays, and child births to name a few. The forms of celebrating may be new and innovative, but the memories and accomplishments will last a lifetime. Congratulations to everyone celebrating a milestone this month and let us not forgot to honor the Dad’s this month. Happy Father’s Day wishes to every CSMFO Dad!!!
Please continue to take care and be safe.
