5 simple things all successful CSMFO Members should know.
We welcome our readers to the Fiscal New Year. This month we are targeting 5 simple things every successful CSMFO finance professional must know.
- Our primary mission this month is to answer for you how you can successfully recharge your professional and personal spirit, with tips from across CSMFO’s leadership. Look for this upcoming article later this month
- We’re continuing our theme of highlighting our State’s Budget Trailer bills and other bills you should be aware of, including updates to our June 17th immediate call for action In the meantime, be sure to check the League’s home page and League’s News section for important updates.
- If you want to be successful at the ballot box, we’ll be providing more tips and lessons learned and how critical is it for you to be actively involved on your agency’s project team.
- Our 2020 conference will be the ‘don’t miss’ 2020 event. We’re providing a sneak peek this month at the dynamic key note speakers for our 2020 Conference, “Yesterday, Tomorrow and Finance”.
- While calendar 2019 is at the half-year mark, CSMFO is already busy looking to 2020 and 2021 by preparing for the upcoming board, officer and 2021 President Elect nomination period. It will ultimately be up to you to consider running for a position, and your voice that will shape CSMFO future direction. More details to come later this month.
Your CSMFO Board, Committees, and Chapters have been hard at work in moving down our 2019 strategic plan. For the communication committee, we completed a prior major objective by launching our third successful month of the CSMFO News platform. Since going live in May, we’ve had nearly 10,000 page-views and saw 1,244 new users access our site in June. We are so excited about the progress this new resource is making and it is opening the door to new ways to engage you, our members.
If you have some suggestions on how we might find new opportunities, or on content you would be interested in, please email us your thoughts this month. We’ll be rolling out a survey on potential new features or content next month. Your feedback will be essential to help shape those suggestions.
And once again, on behalf of our Board of Directors, all our volunteer leaders, and all of you who came to this happy place; welcome.

Those who volunteer to support the CSMFO vision and mission—on a committee or at the chapter level—will tell you the value they receive from their active involvement with CSMFO is immeasurable. We invite you to consider volunteering for one of the many opportunities available within CSMFO. Fill out a Volunteer Interest Form online at www.csmfo.org, under “Membership” then “Get Involved.”
