What is it about CSMFO that makes them interesting?
Their dedication to the organization and industry! CSMFO has such great participation from its members. The Board of Directors, committees, and volunteers are always willing to help and step up to make it a great organization for everyone. They’re open to change and making sure we’re staying on top of new trends, keeping everything CSMFO does relevant and interesting!
What have you done with previous clients or careers that make you a great fit for CSMFO?
CSMFO was actually one of my first groups I worked with when beginning my career in meeting planning! I have been able to learn and grow while working on this organization from the beginning. It’s actually what is shaping my experience!
Describe your first CSMFO conference experience.
One of the first conferences I really worked on was 2015 in Monterey. I was able to assist in planning their President’s Dinner and Thursday Night Event. I remember thinking how they must be a great group for networking as they put a lot of time and effort in making sure their events were memorable. I was able to help with entertainment including a magician, band, casino, décor, karaoke, and a green screen. I’ll always remember how popular the karaoke was. Who knew finance officers had a hidden talent!
If you could choose the entire theme for a CSMFO conference, what would it be?
While it’s a bit “theme-y”, I would love to play on a Hawaiian theme! Potentially including a beach party, luau, and of course hula dancers. Tapping into the island vibes, allowing everyone some time to relax and recharge in between training and educational sessions.
What are you looking forward to for CSMFO 2020?
I think being at Disney gives you a magical feeling as soon as you step in the door. It seems to always radiate through attendees. I’m mostly looking forward to seeing a happy group of people as we learn and grow together throughout the week.
What is a feature of CSMFO members may not know about or don’t utilize as much as they should?
How about the conference mobile app? It’s definitely gaining traction at conferences now. I love how it helps us cut back on our footprint and helps us “go green.” Especially this year as we are trying to incorporate more giving back into our conference plan. Plus, you can upload photos on the app at the conferences! That’s always fun to see.
